C'est Magnifique - Elaine and Jeff

I think I have realized that I have "relationships" with weddings.  My relationship with this wedding unfolded slowly as we found ways to piece together all of the things that this adorable bride loved, which included: The Kentucky countryside, black and white stripes, Paris, and Lemons. By the time it all came together it was so near and dear to my heart--we were friends.  I am so over the moon that this one of a kind wedding has been published in Grey Likes Weddings. Catch the link here and have a happy sigh on me. ;)

So much love to this beautiful couple and the amazing team they brought together! See all of the vendors in this beautiful article (link below)--extra special thanks to these two talented people:

Style me...tickled pink

We are so thrilled to share that our work has been featured in the most popular (and oh so beautiful) wedding blogs out there, Style Me Pretty! We had a lot of fun in the f-f-f-freezing cold putting this inspiration shoot together.  I had such fun working with Nina Mullins of Nina Mullins Photography, who took these wonderful images, and   Cara Dee Cecil who helped with design and styling (also a photographer :)  and major props to the darling couple who braved the temp and the wind and still looked charming!

Be sure to stop by Style Me Pretty and check out all of the images (Butter Cookies, Blackberries, fine cheese, roasting marshmallows...Oh my) --enjoy!

Falling in love again

Meet John And Nancy Beth.  Isn't her Fascinator fascinating?!  Love it--and love their beautiful fall pallet--Beth's bouquet was so yummy.  Mango Calla lillies, Cymbidium orchids, Orange roses, Rose hips, Billy Balls and faux fern curls.  It doesn't get more Autumn-y than this!

The family's monogram in Mums and Rose hips over Grapevine wreaths.  Hung on the doors of the Andover Country Club http://www.golfandover.com
Opulent florals on the cake by Confused Confections (their cakes are SO yummy!) http://confusedconfections.com
I'm a fan of John's Mango Calla lily boutonniere-the faux fern curl is wielding it's way around the stem for a little unique touch
Her gorgeous shoes--can't believe we found ribbon this exact shade of green to suspend the wreaths!

Sometimes a flower girl just has to wear pink--regardless of what color the wedding is!  So we tucked a few hot pink roses in with her bouquet--and it worked!  Aren't these two darling? A beautiful new family :)

"Blue" (and green) Christmas

Here's a little peak at our Family Christmas cards this year. We're all pretty happy to be "home" in California on the beach we love. Our first Christmas card photo ever--when our oldest will was just 3 months old--was taken on this beach in La Jolla. Where did the time go? Merry Christmas everyone! Warmly--Suzi

Fall, In Love

gorgeous portrait of jesse and leslie at fasig tipton on a beautiful fall day!
www.fasigtipton.com

leslie's rich bouquet had roses in three shades of red, with hypericum berries, unique fuzzy kangaroo paw. and true vintage gold ribbon I inherited from a los angeles window dresser
my favorite moment is seeing the face of a bride when she catches the first glimpse of her bouquet!

for the bridesmaids a variation on leslie's bouquet in shades of yellow gold and orange, with hypericum berry and yellow kangaroo paw
the perfect fall pomander ball of variegated button mums with a touch of berries and sparkly warm golden ribbon
I love this image--the photographer shaun ring has a gift for putting everyone at ease--you can tell they're having fun--and looking beautiful! www.shaunringphotography.com

for the centerpieces--a modern take on the "cornucopia" we put together bowls of pear, pomegranate, figs, persimmons, artichokes, grapes, and accented them with elegant orchids, roses, kangaroo paw and pheasant feather
cool crisp air, warm rich colors, glowing happy couple, that's how to fall in love!

Pure and Simple

Carly and Ryan couldn't wait to start their lives toegther. Their first day as husband and wife was made up of fresh details in Apple Green and Navy Blue.

Carly's bouquet was made up of Garden roses and Green Hydrangea, tied with a rich Navy velvet ribbon studded with pearls

The Bridesmaids bouquets of Yoko Ono button mums, Hypericum berries and Cymbidium Orchid. I love how this color pops against the navy!

Ryans boutonniere--a tight cluster of Garden rose buds and hypericum, with velvet ribbon wrapped stem

Pure simple pew markers of White and Green Hydrangea fastened with White tulle and Bone colored Grosgrain ribbon

We had two crisp simple centerpices throughout the beautiful room at Hillary J Boone center www.uky.edu/BooneCenter Apples topped with Cymbidium orchid and tied with stitched grosgrain ribbon....

...and a simple cluster of white and green Hydrangea

Hanging on the church doors were two good enough to eat wreaths of Granny Smith apples, Yoko Ono mums and Daisies--suspended by a wide navy ribbon

What a way to end the night!

Color of Love

Jake and Leslie were absolutely glowing on their wedding day!

Color Color Color! Every Groomsman in a different color tie-- The bridesmaids in this fresh spring green!

"Can you make it look like we gathered it up from the field?"

White Lisianthus, Yellow Billy Buttons and Solidago, Blue Euryngium and Misty blue, tied up in Bone white Grosgrain Ribbon

Yellow Button Mum, Blue Euryngium, green faux berries, and dotted Guinea fowl feathers, with a ribbon wrapped stem.

The bridesmaids carried bright bouquets of Sunflower, Orange Roses, Blue Euryngium, and Yellow Solidago

This wedding was a fun, challenging project. The Bride and Her mother had already decided that they wanted an ecclectic "From grandma's cupboard" look for the reception. So they all (and grandma :) began collecting vases and vintage bottles until they had over 100! Then Mom began sewing table cloths, toppers and runners. Then they gathered Grapevine from the farm and made loads of wreaths....then they realized this was going to be a huge undertaking... and called Me!

Every table was completely unique--I love the old medicine bottle, and re-purposed Orangina. Even the cakes came in 3 flavors and colors

We draped the Hay shelter at Devine's Farm in Danville with muslin, sinched up with Grosgrain ribbon and a little bundle of flowers. http://www.devinescornmaze.com/
(a beautiful spot!)

Love these little trios of Milk glass

The head table (background, below) had a rich orange tapestry-like cloth with cobalt blue vases and wrought iron lanterns

The Dance floor was delightful strewn with Yellow Tissue paper poms--made and hung by the family.

Loved this family, loved this location, loved this wedding !
